The ping system in Spellbreak creates a marked location on the map, visible to you and your squad. During any point in the match, you may use the ping system to alert your squadmates of valuable items, locations, and danger.
The basics of using the Ping system are as follows:
- Tapping your ping button (default is Middle Mouse Button, but this may be set in your Controls, under Settings) on any location will create a marker that will appear on the map as well as in-world.
- Tapping your ping button on an item will create an item marker that will appear on the mini-map as well as in-world.
- Holding your ping button down for one second before releasing on any location will create a danger marker that will appear on the mini-map as well as in-world.
- Except for danger pings, all pings can be acknowledged or rejected by hovering over your squadmate’s ping (both on the mini-map or in-world) and using your own ping button.
- You can cancel any of your own pings by hovering your reticle over the previously made ping and tapping your ping button.
To set your ping button:
- Once in game, hit ESC and click Settings.
- Navigate to Controls.
- Scroll down until you see “Ping” in the left-hand column.
- Choose your preferred key. It is Middle Mouse Button by default.
Once your key is set, you are ready to go. To drop a ping marker on a location for you and your squadmates:
- Hover your reticle over the area you want to drop a marker.
- Tap your ping button (middle mouse button by default).
- Hover over it again to cancel.
To mark an item for you and your squadmates:
- Hover your reticle over the item you wish to mark.
- Tap your ping button.
- Hover over it again to cancel.
To create a danger marker for you and your squadmates:
- Hover your reticle over the area you want to drop a marker.
- Click and hold your ping button for a second.
- Hover over it again to cancel.
All ping markers are visible on both the map (full map in addition to the mini-map) as well as in-world.
